Encouragement for Today...

Last week was a tough one.. there are just days when I am busy at work and at home. My mind was spinning because there so many thoughts having triathlon in my head. To say I was tired was an understatement. I WAS EXHAUSTED. It's one thing to be physically drained but to be drained mentally and emotionally was beyond that I can handle.

VP the hubby was busy at the gallery/hotel with all the preparations for guests arrivals and Angkor Art Explo 2013 opening this coming Jan 31. Plus what bothers me sometimes with his schedule is that some people chose to set up meetings with him on a Sunday.. like they don't care that he is a family man.. Sunday is our Family time because we spend it with GOD. Yesterday, this was my struggle at Church. Then when I was praying this little voice inside me said: "Next time someone showed up in your house for unexpected meeting with your husband, invite him/her to church instead!"

A great encouragement indeed!

Although we are living in a Buddhist country, what I love about Cambodia is that we are free to worship our one true God and I am grateful for that. People come here often to seek that one missing piece.. their soul. There's not enough yoga, meditation, reike & re-connective healing that can find that missing piece. I always believe that the spiritually we are all seeking is our relationship with God. I may slip, fall flat on my face, whole body buried in mud but I know my God is mighty to save. His Grace & Mercy is abundant and His Love overflowing.

And so with all my struggles, my negative thoughts and just being emotional today, I started my day in prayer. Before opening any emails today, I read my favorite devotional.

This prayer from the devotional speaks of what I too was praying for:

Dear Lord, equip my mind with Your helmet of salvation. Protect my mind from every evil influence. I submit my thoughts to You and thank You for granting me ever-increasing discernment, wisdom, and an understanding mind. Thank You that I have the mind of Christ, and I hold the thoughts, feelings and purposes of His heart. Renew my mind and grant me a fresh mental and spiritual attitude and a godly mindset. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

and here's a Bible verse to start this week:

Romans 12:2, "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." (NLT)

Have a blessed week everyone!

Luang Prabang

"The first time I loved forever
Was when you whispered my name
And I knew at once you loved me"

somewhere i have never traveled, gladly beyond any experience, your eyes have their silence: in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me, or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me though i have closed myself as fingers, you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens (touching skilfully, mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me, i and my life will shut very beautifully ,suddenly, as when the heart of this flower imagines the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals the power of your intense fragility:whose texture compels me with the color of its countries, rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes and opens;only something in me understands the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses) nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

Luang Prabang has this silent way of making you fall in love..
slowly it connects to you like a dream
gently it reminds you that this is your hideaway
someday. somewhere. you will remember
truly, it was a journey for the heart & soul.

Looking back...

2012 was an incredible year for me and my family. Sure there were a lot of challenges but we got through it by faith and miracles..

My last post in this blog was June 2012. Somehow, updating the blog tick box was in the bottom of my priority list so that was not done until tonight. :) But the beauty of that is, I have plenty to post! They maybe memories but I loved the moments when we created those beautiful experiences..

Last year, VP and I had this crazy idea of doing a road trip across Cambodia. That didn't happen. At the same time, VP was working on a new project in the capital. That didn't happen either as some things are not meant to be.. Then I planned to go back to yoga and oh, I am still planning to go back to yoga..  I also tried and quit several "goals" like not having rice during dinner. Well, lets just say that's an epic battle..

Maybe this year I will try to update this blog more often. I'll move it up in my priority list and see if I can squeeze it before searching youtube for "new movie trailers" and checking TV.com for episode guide of my favorite TV shows.

So here's to a late new years resolution of being committed to this art of writing.

i hope tomorrow i can remember my password to open this blog.
