Off to the Capital

It's been a while since we travel together to Phnom Penh with just the two of us. VP & I will try the midnight bus. Let's see what my experience will be...

Here's the view from FCC almost 6 years ago.. the first time we visited PP was water festival 2006.

We had been to PP several times but either with friends, colleagues, family or for business. It's Valentines Day in a few hours and this is our little romantic get away... yup, shopping is way romantic when someone else is paying for your 3 or 4 or more shopping bags (plus someone else is carrying it for you too!) haha kidding...

We will go there to check out the new space + watch movies! Yay! I'm excited. Happy me needs to get ready now...

Midweek Madness

Busy as always and preparing for a lot of happenings next week. Anyways, just happy that I finally figure out the blog app in this wonderful toy that I am obviously addicted.

VP is also busy in Phnom Penh for a new gallery called the Artillery. Meanwhile back here in Siem Reap, the Sin Sisamot & Ros Srey Sothea room is almost done!

The wall art was done by a young Khmer artist. I can't wait for the launching of this gallery!

Exploring the Wilderness (Incredible India 2.1)

Last week was insanely busy that it had left me mentally & emotionally drained. So many things going on at Home ( new galleries for 1961), drama ( another artist's breakdown which I think deserves it's own blog post) , projects ( new shop in the capital) and little one is starting full day at school tomorrow! There are also the "to do things" at work & my hitlist keeps on piling up... so I better finish those this week. :)
Anyways, back to reminiscing my incredible India journey; this makes me feel like I have taken a short respite while revisiting the experience of exploring the wilderness of Ranthambore.
Only open from October through April each year, Aman-i-Khás is a wilderness camp located in a rugged brushwood forest on the fringes of Ranthambore National Park. Aman is the Sanskrit word for ‘peace’ with the Hindi word for ‘special’, khás, thus it's called Aman-i-Khás. LP & I were camping Moghul style!

Here's us early morning, ready for our adventure:

The park's entrance:

Entering through ancient forts:

Once Backdrop of ancient epic battle...

What makes this experience special was the encounter of the animals. It's different watching them on National Geographic or Animal Planet than seeing them in real life...The zoo experience is different as well than "meeting" the animals in their natural habitat.
There I was marveling God's beautiful creatures..

Elegant Peacocks..

This reminds me of the Bible verse: (Mt. 6:26)" Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?"

His eye is on the sparrows..

Sambar Deer

Hanuman Langurs

And our super close encounter with the Tiger... I was smacking myself in the head that I was so excited to take photos that I forgot to do the tinkering in my camera to take better pictures of a moving subject... wish VP was there..well, I managed to take a few decent shots:

Here we were having a picnic in the wild after the close encounter with his majesty..

I guess were merely spectators visiting in their wilderness...

Love was born 62 years ago....

The kitchen has been smelling so yummy as early as 5 am and our stomach anticipating the sumptuous feast that Nanay Love prepared for her birthday!

Loven's mom, Love (a.k.a. MIL) is celebrating her special day today. Mother's love - that the theme of our feast fit for 100 guests although there's only 10 of us who had lunch earlier...

Here's the feast:

Lunch was absolutely fun and until now I am still full! =)

We heart Birthdays & Sundays...

Unexpexted

Just like how I met him, it's unexpected and unlikely that we will fall in love with each other. After all I was just the silly seat mate who sang Disney songs with him. It's been 15 years since I first met him and yet there are always surprises... Wonderful surprises that makes me swoon like a lovestruck teenager. Today, no occasion or holiday; I received VP's Gift!!! Apple = <3
